Grounding doesn’t get much press.
The simple act of placing your bare feet on or in a natural surface (grass, sand, rock, mud, ocean, river, stream, moss) has the biggest ROI of any health intervention…
…but you can’t package it into a product, you can’t sell it, you can’t market it, and you can’t make money from it. And I think this is precisely why not many people talk about it.
In short: it is simply not profitable. Anyone, anywhere, at any age, in any state of health can practice grounding - and they can do it entirely for free.
Grounding - also known as earthing - alleviates depression, lowers cortisol, balances mood, reduces pain, lessens inflammation, improves nervous system & cardiovascular function, aids in sleep, and enhances healing. We are the earth, and the earth is us: maintaining our connection to it is crucial for wellbeing.
But when the temperature dips and it’s harder to go barefoot, what do we do?
Luckily, there are a multitude of other ways to ground!
Hug a tree
Not just for hippies, tree hugging is actually one of the best ways to ground! Trees are magnificent creatures and hold so much tangible energy. As we all know, their root systems run deep and long, snaking across the planet. We can harness some of this energy for ourselves by simply placing both palms on a tree trunk for a few moments and breathing deeply.
